My best dressed goes to AnnaSophia Robb. The Carrie Diaries actress gets its spot on in this George Chakras dress which fits her figure perfectly. The colour looks to me like nude mixed with lilac which seems like an odd choice but it really compliments her skintone. I'm a huge fan of lace but in order to keep it from looking old, the cut of the item is crucial. By having a halter neck and an open back, it keeps the look fresh; after all, she is only 19! I also love the mesh bottom, it just gives the dress a youthful touch. Paired with Brian Atwood heels, she has just the right amount of sparkle going on. Now I want to bring your attention to her AMAZING clutch bag.
During her performance, she then opted for this princess-style dress. This is country style down to a tee, sweet and sparkly. It's not often you see sequins in a lattice-style pattern but on top of the pale pink, they make the dress look expensive. And those shoes! Pale pink satin peeptoe heels remind me of ballet and that's a good thing!
Newcomer Jana Kramer is another one of my best dressed. I think this dress would only work on someone with olive skin and dark hair because of the dark colouring and boy does she look amazing! This dress is understated sexy rather than revealing sexy by showing off the decolletage and I'm a fan of the side-swept hair. The only thing I'm not the biggest lover of is the feathered hemline or maybe that's just because I don't like feathers on clothing!
Another newcomer, Kacey Musgraves, opted for a shorter dress, but again got the sequinned memo! This pale pink colour has been seen on many a red carpet this season but this is definitely a more wearable piece! I'd definitely wear this to a fancy party and probably style it pretty similarly too! I like it when shorter dresses are paired with a longer sleeve because I'm a firm believer in not showing too much skin. Simple hair and nude heels keep the dress as the main focus.
Now it is a well known fact that I'm obsessed with Taylor Swift's style in general but this disappointed me. I'm not a fan of the high-low hemline and this dress just look ill-fitting to me. If it was more fitting then maybe I'd like it. It's not that she looks bad, it's just I'm used to seeing her on the red carpet and instantly loving her outfit. It doesn't help that I don't like the hair up like that or the shoes!
Next up is the presenter of the night, Kristen Bell. Another material I like is leather but I usually wear it to add an edgy element to an outfit. Here, it looks super girly because of the pleated A-line skirt and the cutout details. Showing off her new body after baby, I think she looks so good in this dress!
Last but not least is Nicole Kidman. Now I really like this outfit but my problem is is that it's not very dressy, at least not for an awards show! However Nicole has this thing where she dresses understated for her husband Keith Urban's events so that he gets the spotlight and then dresses more alluring for her own film premieres which I suppose is very supportive but this dress just comes off as bland to me! Don't get me wrong, I'd wear it on a night out but I'd have opted for something a bit more glamourous for such an event as this. Love the shoes though, and I'm not usually a big lover of white shoes!
