Hull boy competes in final of Chinese speaking competition

A Hull boy has competed in the Mandarin Chinese Speaking Competition in London.

Liam Havercroft, 12, of Amethyst Road, was joined by his Mandarin teacher from Archbishop Sentamu Academy and travelled to the capital last week to take part in the HSBC-run final.

Despite not winning, Liam thoroughly enjoyed his day and loves learning the language.
He said: “I’m so glad I got to spend the day at the competition.

“Meeting the other finalists and getting to take part in a UK-wide final was great fun.”

Manic Monday #2

As I've said in my previous posts, I've been so manic lately that I just have not had time to blog. Also, I've just not been feeling inspired lately. I've given myself some time to distance myself from blogging because I don't want to produce weak posts and not put 100% effort into running the site. I've spent the last few weeks working and at uni and actually spending time with the people I love. As much as this blog is important to me and my future career prospects, I've actually been neglecting the real world for some time.

I'm in a state of imbalance with the amount of work I do and the amount of social time I have. Let's be honest, when you've been at work since 9, sometimes the last thing you want to do is go out. I love just coming home and watching TV and having an early night. Luckily, my boyfriend and friends are so understanding and want me to prioritise uni before everything.

I'm taking a summer module currently at uni but it's only three weeks long so I'm hoping that I will have more free time after that. I just don't want to blog for the sake of it; I want to make sure my posts are to the best of my ability or else what's the point? I know most bloggers try to schedule posts and write a bulk of them in a day but I never have that amount of time. I'd rather write less posts but with a better quality. I'm not saying bloggers who post everyday choose quantity over quality but I think that will work better for me.

So I will try to blog more but I'm not going to do so if it means sacrificing a meal out with friends or a night at my boyfriends.

Bloglovin'

So I've re-branded. I've changed the name of the blog from Swiftly Style to Sweet Petite Who Tweets as I do tend to focus on things other than just style. Now it'd be great if you could follow my new blog on Bloglovin'!
