Today's Outfit 26/02/2013

Last night I went to see the touring production of Hairspray at the theatre and it was amazing! Now it's a rule that you dress up when going to the theatre; not fully dressed up as if you were going clubbing but at least looking presentable.

As you can see from previous posts, I wear a lot of black. And I mean, A LOT. Here, I'm wearing some of those really thick black leggings, ones that you can get away with wearing with a shorter top. They're from Next's Petite range and they fit like a glove. I'd searched high and low for a pair that fit and these ones are perfect! They were perfect to pair with my new shirt from H&M that I bought a few days ago. This shirt is so comfortable; it's chiffon at the front but cotton on the sleeves and back! However, it is very see-through so I had to put on a black vest underneath! Also, because it's so baggy, I've belted it with my Forever 21 'Love' belt which is another new addition to my wardrobe from my recent Birmingham trip. To complete the look, I've gone for my trusty studded flats and a million and one rings on my fingers. It's a good job I wasn't doing anything productive or else I wouldn't have been able to use my hands much!

Today's Outfit 20/02/2013

I realise this is a week late but better late than never right?!

Now I'm obsessed with the whole American varsity look and have been for a while now and in fairness, the top and jacket I'm wearing have been in my wardrobe for quite some time now! This is the comfiest jacket I own too! Black skinnies compliment the look. However, because the look is so casual, I paired it with some studded ballet flats to make it look dressier and to incorporate studs into my outfit somehow! I also am rarely seen with my hair up but I do like a plait and I thought the side plait went well with this outfit!

Today's Outfit 19/02/2013

Apparently the weather is improving, but I am yet to see this in Hull other than the slight increase in temperature. Slight increase being 1 or 2 degrees. As I am always cold, it is definitely not time to be getting my legs out any time soon which means jeans are my go-to wardrobe staple.

Black on black. The key here is to mix up the texture. Black skinny jeans should be in every girl/woman's wardrobe and if you don't own any, go out and buy some! Mine are from Forever 21 and didn't even cost £20! Today I paired them with a thick knit jumper. I love knitwear but because I have sensitive skin, I find it very difficult to find knitwear that doesn't itch! However, because this jumper is made of acrylic and cotton, it makes it super comfy and non-itchy! As you may know by now if you've read my previous posts, I love studs. By having the studs on the shoulder, it makes this jumper a bit more dressy and gives my outfit a more rock 'n' roll feel.

Another one of my fashion staples is brogues with socks. I'm obsessed with patterned socks and these white and black polka-dot socks are some of my faves. Paired with my favourite tan brogues, this preppy look juxtaposes with the studs from the jumper.

To accessorise, I wore a couple of friendship bracelets and a couple of knuckle-duster rings (pictured below).

Today's Outfit 12/02/2013

So I realise I've not blogged in a while but you know what uni can be like! Crazy busy Semester 2 right now! Now down to the important bit, style of course. Today was definitely one of those days where I felt like dressing up. Full day at uni, never know who you might bump into etc etc.
I do love me some leather. Well, pleather, I don't believe in wearing a dead animal's skin on your back, it's gross! After a visit to Birmingham last week, I pretty much bought this whole outfit. Both the jumper and skirt are from my favourite store, Forever 21 of course! I've been obsessed with moustaches for ages now and finally there is some clothing with them printed on! This makes me happy. I'm not even kidding; I have it adorned on tops, necklaces, rings, my phone case. Although this skirt is really dressy, I paired it with this long sleeved sweater for a couple of reasons. 1) It is bloody freezing here! And 2) It makes it more wearable during the day. Here, I've got two pair of tights on due to the weather and my newly-purchased Lower Than Atlantis band from my Birmingham trip.

Because I'm a massive girl and have a serious shoe addiction, I may have come home and changed my shoes halfway through the day.
Pair number one are my latest babies. I'm being serious, I'm wearing them to death. I love black and I love studs so to me, these are my perfect shoes. Plus they gave my outfit today a little bit of a rockier edge, which is quintessentially my style.
Pair number two are my trusty tan brogues. Now I bought these from Zara about two years ago for £15 (Bargain, I know!) and I have pretty much worn them to death. The toes are scuffed and they're starting to look a bit worn but I think that adds to the whole essence of them! I struggle to part with shoes so these won't be going anywhere near a bin anytime soon!
